Music sequencer and synthesizer

ATTENTION: I havent wanted to work on this in a long time, and I dont think that will change any time soon. Maybe I will open-source it some day. The app seems to work well, but it may not have all the features youre looking for. You have been warned! Syntheogen™ is a music sequencer and synthesizer with a fresh look and a design that specifically targets touchscreens and small displays. It produces techno, hip hop, synthpop, and many other electronic sounds. FEATURES + Produce your own sounds with sampling, subtractive synthesis, or both in the same patch. Trim and loop WAVE files in the app to use your own samples. + Add as many tracks and apply as many effects as your device can handle. Effects include clipping, reduction, flanger, chorus, filter, comb filter, tremolo, delay, and reverb. + Edit multiple patterns from one screen with unique LOOP STEPS view. Zoom in with pinch gestures to edit small steps; zoom out to see entire composition. Tap headings to work within full scale range, even when editing percussion patterns. + Divide measures into fifths, sevenths, or almost any number with custom STEP GUIDES. Make patterns anywhere from four to 64 beats long, and combine different lengths in the same loop to produce polyrhythms. + Use STEP TIES for precise control over pitch bends and note dynamics. Bend entire chords, or produce pedal steel sounds by bending one note while others are held. + Transpose patterns to different scales or modes with a few button presses. + Export finished loops and songs to WAVE files for external playback + Get control-by-control help without leaving the app by tapping ? buttons on almost any dialog. Learn more from detailed online user guide. + Minimal device permissions required. RECOMMENDED DEVICES For best performance, it is recommended that you run Syntheogen on a quad-core device or better. Older dual-core devices are likely to produce dropouts when complex mixes are played. KNOWN BUGS Samsung S-Pen input may not work on all devices. There are reports that it does work on the Galaxy Note II and the Galaxy Note 10.1, but not on the Galaxy Note 8.0. Ordinary touch input continues to function as expected. For now, the S-Pen is not officially supported. TRY AND BUY This is the full version of Syntheogen. Totally rock since a few updates back! The Sampler is truly superior to all others I have tried. Except for the lack of recording functionality, which I really miss. Awesome work :D

Lars Wallin

I LOVE that this has a sampler with ability to import my own sounds. I wish they could be on external SD, as I keep tons of samples there, but this opens a huge world of options already. I feel if the song and pattern saving method was more intuitive this would definitely be on the level of caustic, sunvox, nanoloop. Really though, it already is!

This gives me the freedom i always wanted and to be able to change time signature is required by the way i make music so this is truly a breath of fresh air on play store. I'm still learning this but i can't seem to move or stretch any notes on the tracks and is limited to use those guides which restricts where i can put notes when working with a track of greater length, and those synth patches are kind of annoying when creating a new track, i would love to be able change this. Eager for the updates

Jesper Larsson

But loop zoom would be useful as some of the grids are v small [edit - just figured out how to do that...] Looking forward to track editing. Not found a bug yet.

I'm giving it 5 stars for its God start and potential. Still have plenty of details that needs work on but so far it's good.

Purchased this app yesterday and was slightly baffled by the menu.Today I opened it again.Very pleased to find a different screen. Massive Improvement!!! ~Thank You~ Martin Crossman

Very professional looking. This is by far one of the best synths on the market. Im glad i found this:) keep up the good work dev :) EDIT: my favorite beat making app right now..its so intuitive. Engenious work dev. Top app right here. Highly recomended. EDIT2: Now it just got even better..very slick design and more user friendly. I love where this is going ~ Godfather Mo G-Z ~

Ruebin Dunson

I've not experimented with this much yet but my initial praise must go to the simple, clean and inviting interface. It screams simplicity which so many music apps lack. I wish the dev lots of luck.

Lee Spinks

Really, really promising. Interface-- which is obviously built from the ground up to make sense on small touchscreens-- does have a learning curve / is not perfectly intuitive YET for experienced desktop sequencer / DAW users, but there's more than enough potential and active dev going on to justify the stupidly low cost. There are some really neat / unique design philosophies in play and I think this one is definitely going places. SUPPORT ANDROID MUSIC APP DEVELOPERS.
